The Lunch Express and Summer Food Service Program
During 2014 our Summer Food Service program provided 31,878 meals and 2,571 snacks to 1,586 children at 44 sites.
Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee sponsors a Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) which is administered in Tennessee by the Department of Human Services under an agreement with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). Meals are provided to all children without charge. Acceptance and participation requirements for the program and all activities are the same regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability. There will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.
