Food Stamp Outreach – Food Banks Nationwide are a major partner in distributing information about SNAP (Food Stamp) enrollment to people in need providing guidance and direction to Food Bank agencies and individuals about the SNAP application process. 

Over 49% of people in Northeast Tennessee are below the SNAP threshold of 130% poverty, 23% fall between 130% and 185% poverty. Both groups may be eligable for SNAP and other federal nutrition programs. People in Northeast Tennessee receive SNAP benefits. 

The Food Bank distributes nutrition information through its agencies and children's programs utilizing materials provided by USDA and Tennessee Dept of Agriculture and Feeding America.
